The Oak Lawn Fire Department is charged with the responsibility of providing modern fire suppression techniques, vital emergency medical services, fire prevention programs and public education to fully serve all our citizens. We are also charged with safeguarding against the injurious effects of all emergency situations including specialized rescue and hazardous material. We pledge excellence, initiative, integrity and respect to all we serve whatever their needs may be.

To fulfill our commitment, our department consists of 94 uniformed personnel who are prepared to offer these services from three fire stations located within Oak Lawn. These facilities are staffed twenty-four hours a day, every day of the year.

We promise the highest of standards, based on our motto “The Desire to Serve – The Courage to Act – The Ability to Perform”

Under the direction of the Fire Chief, the mission of the fire department is achieved through two organizational categories; each category is under the direction and control of a Division Chief.
