The Village of Oak Lawn Water Division has contracted M.E. Simpson to perform necessary and preventative maintenance of the distribution system to ensure proper operation.

Accumulated sediment in the water main and fire hydrants will be flushed during normal business hours

Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Beginning September 25th through September 26th 2017

While flushing is underway short temporary periods of low pressure and discolored water can be expected, but DOES NOT present a health hazard.

To restore clarity to your tap water use a faucet with the aerator removed, or use a laundry sink faucet without an aerator, and flow the cold water until it clears.

M.E. Simpson will give notification by placing signs in the parkways of the areas they are working in. Questions call Water Department 708-499-7747

                     95th Street to 99th Street, Nashville to Harlem.

                     Please refrain from doing Laundry during these times if Possible

The Village of Oak Lawn, Illinois (“Village”) hereby invite bids for the demolition of the structure located at 9815 Southwest Highway, Oak Lawn, Illinois. Sealed bids will be received by the Village of Oak Lawn, Village Clerks Office, 2nd floor, 9446 S. Raymond Ave., Oak Lawn, Illinois 60453, until Thursday, February 23, 2017, at 10:00 A.M. local time, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope and identified on the exterior of the envelope “VILLAGE OF OAK LAWN – 9815 SW HWY DEMOLITION BID”, with the Bidder’s name and address. Any bid submitted unsealed, unsigned, or received subsequent to the aforementioned date and time, will be disqualified and returned to Bidder.

Bids must be mailed or physically delivered to: Village of Oak Lawn, Village Clerks Office, 2nd floor, 9446 S. Raymond Ave., Oak Lawn, Illinois 60453.

Bids shall be prepared and submitted in accordance with the Bid Specifications, which may be obtained from the Village Clerks Office, 2nd floor, 9446 S. Raymond Ave., Oak Lawn, Illinois 60453 or can be downloaded from in the “Government” section, under “Bid and RFP”.

All quotes offered on this bid solicitation shall include materials, tools, and equipment necessary to complete the demolition of the structure. No bidder may withdraw their bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of the bids.  

The contractor is responsible for all notifications, permits, and fees for the demolition, and for asbestos removal (if applicable).

A bid bond or certified check payable to the Village of Oak Lawn in the amount of 5% of the bid price is required with the bid presented. A 100% performance and payment bond will be required from the successful bidder.

Sufficient proof liability and workmen’s compensation insurance must be furnished to the Village.

Contractors shall not pay less than the prevailing rates of wages to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under this contract, and shall comply with the requirements of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/0.01, et seq.).

The Village reserves the right to waive any irregularities or reject any or all bids. The contract award will be based on the lowest responsive, responsible bid, as determined by the Village.
