Notice is hereby given by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Lawn, Illinois, that sealed bid proposals will be received for the following project:

2017 Sidewalk Replacement Program

The proposed improvement shall consist of the removal and replacement of public sidewalks and all other necessary related work.

Sealed bid proposals will be received up to the hour of 10:00 O’clock A.M. on Wednesday, March 15th, 2017, in the office of the Village Clerk, located in the Municipal Center at 9446 South Raymond Avenue, Oak Lawn, Illinois 60453. All sealed bid proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud at 10:30 A.M. on the same day in the Municipal Safety Center Auditorium located on the second floor of the Municipal Center.

The Bid Proposal and Specifications for the project are on file with the Director of Public Works located on the 2nd Floor of the Oak Lawn Public Works; Street Garage located at 5532 West 98th Street, Oak Lawn, Illinois 60453 and will be available for purchase beginning on Thursday, March 2nd, 2017.

Bid proposals and specifications will be available to qualified contractors beginning Thursday, March 2nd, 2017 at the Oak Lawn Building Department located in the lower level of the Municipal Center at 9446 South Raymond Avenue; upon payment of a non-refundable charge of Twenty-Five Dollars ($25.00) per set of bidding documents consisting of the Specifications and Bid Proposal.  Bid proposal must be submitted on the forms provided.  No bidding documents will be issued after 4:30 O’clock P.M. on Thursday, March 9th, 2017.

All bid proposals offered must be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check in an amount which shall not be less than Ten Percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid as a guarantee that if the bid proposal is accepted, a contract will be entered into and the performance of the contract properly secured. The bid bonds or checks shall be made payable to the order of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Lawn. No bid proposal shall be considered unless accompanied by such bid bond or check.

A performance bond and payment bond, each in the amount of One Hundred Percent (100%) of the contract price and with a corporate surety approved by the Village of Oak Lawn, will be required from the successful bidder to guarantee the full performance of the contract.

The Contractor will be required to pay no less than the prevailing wage rates on this project as established by the U.S Department of Labor and must comply with the equal opportunity provisions set forth in the contract documents. The Contractor shall also comply with all Federal, State, and Local regulations. The Village reserves the right to determine the lowest responsible bidder, to waive irregularities, and to reject any or all bid proposals.
