Training & Safety


Under the direction of the Operations Chief Michael McMillin, training in the
Oak Lawn Fire Department is accomplished in accordance with all standards as set forth by the following State & Federal Agencies:

  • Illinois Department of Labor
  • Illinois Department of Public Health 
  • Insurance Service Organization 
  • National Fire Protection Agency
  • Occupational Safety & Health Administration
  • Office of the State Fire Marshal Department

Personnel train on a regularly scheduled basis on the following topics:

  • Emergency Medical Services
  • Fire Suppression
  • Hazardous Materials
  • Rescue Task Force
  • Technical Rescue
