The Village of Oak Lawn is launching a multi-year project to make needed repairs to our parking garage which will extend the lifespan of the facility.

The garage will remain open during the renovations, however:  Please be advised that certain sections of the garage primarily on the 4TH and 5TH floors will be closed off during the repair work. No Parking signs will be posted. PLEASE ADHERE TO THE SIGNS OR YOU WILL BE TICKETED AND TOWEDTraffic patterns will be maintained, however travel lanes will be shifted with traffic control. While work is occurring there may be some occasional dust created as concrete and joint repairs are being made. 

Temporary additional permit parking for users will be located at:  North side of 96TH St. between 52nd Ave and Cook Ave. South side of Yourell Ave. between 52nd Ave. and Cook Ave. 

The First Phase of Repairs Will Begin on May 1St, and Continue Until Approximately August 15TH, of 2017.

Chief Michael Murray

Chief Murray started his career with the Department in 1987 and worked his way through the ranks in the Patrol & Detective Divisions until he was appointed to his current position in April of 2013.  He is a lifelong resident of the Village of Oak Lawn.  He is a Graduate of St. Catherine Of Alexandria Grammar School & Marist High School. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Illinois Benedictine College and is a 2005 graduate of Northwestern University School of Police Staff & Command. 

 

 

 

Division Chief Roger Pawlowski

Roger Pawlowski has been a sworn member of the Oak Lawn Police Department since 1987. He was appointed to the position of Division Chief of Administrative Services in 2003. In this capacity he is responsible for all civilian employees, vehicle and equipment purchasing and maintenance, the Traffic Unit, Honor Guard, Accident Reconstruction Unit and shares responsibility for the Canine Unit. Roger is the Parking Compliance Officer responsible for the administration and adjudication of the parking citations program.

Roger Pawlowski graduated, summa cum laude, from St. Xavier University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Roger is a graduate of the 123rd class of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command.

 

Division Chief Randy Palmer

Investigations Division

Randy Palmer has been a member of The Oak Lawn Police Department for more than 22 years and has served as a patrol officer, detective and supervisor in both the Patrol and Detective Divisions. He served as a member of the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force as both an investigator and Assistant Commander. He was appointed to the position of Division Chief in 2014.

Randy Palmer earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Governors State University. He is a graduate of the 234th session of the FBI National Academy.

 

Division Chief Mel Clark

Mel Clark has been a sworn member of the Oak Lawn Police Department since 1992 and has worked in the Patrol and Detective Divisions.   He was appointed to the position of Division Chief of Patrol in April of 2015.

He  earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Safety Management from Calumet College of St. Joseph.   He is a graduate of the 240th class of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command as well as the 259th Session of the FBI National Academy.
