The Village of Oak Lawn is launching a multi-year project to make needed repairs to our parking garage which will extend the lifespan of the facility.

 

The garage will remain open during the renovations, however:  Please be advised that certain sections of the garage primarily on the 4TH and 5TH floors will be closed off during the repair work. No Parking signs will be posted. PLEASE ADHERE TO THE SIGNS OR YOU WILL BE TICKETED AND TOWEDTraffic patterns will be maintained, however travel lanes will be shifted with traffic control. While work is occurring there may be some occasional dust created as concrete and joint repairs are being made. 

Temporary additional permit parking for users will be located at:  North side of 96TH St. between 52nd Ave and Cook Ave. South side of Yourell Ave. between 52nd Ave. and Cook Ave. 

The First Phase of Repairs Will Begin on May 1St, and Continue Until Approximately August 15TH, of 2017.

BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS TUTORING

Need help setting up and using email, navigating online agencies (e.g. finances, utilities), or using Microsoft Word and other Microsoft programs? Private or small group tutoring can be scheduled based on individual availability. Call the Senior Center to schedule your appointment. 

MEMORY LANE

Memory Lane is a group where members share experiences from there life based on prompts. Members have the option to record their memories through writing or to just talk about their memories. Group facilitators will help members create written memoirs if requested. This is a group to explore experiences from the past and present. Sharing is meant to be reflective and enjoyable! Please call the Oak Lawn Senior Center with any questions.

ARTS AND CRAFTS WORKSHOP

Join us for a new Arts & Crafts program with instructor Linda Sears. You will be able to complete crafts in class and take them home with you. No experience needed!

BRIDGE

The bridge group on Wednesdays is looking for more members to come out and play! Please stop by at 11:30!

IDENTIFICATION BRACELET PROGRAM

The Senior Citizen Commission and Council in cooperation with the Oak Lawn Police and Fire Department have an Identification Bracelet program. Oak Lawn residents 50 year of age and older can obtain a personal I.D. bracelet at the Senior Center for $7. This purpose of this program is to make vital personal information available in an efficient manner in case of an emergency or accident. Individuals complete an information sheet to be stored on the Emergency Communications Department computers. One does not have to have a medical condition to purchase a bracelets. Information can be updated regularly to ensure the most accurate data is accessible. Please call the Senior Center with questions about the I.D. Bracelet Program.
